When I was a child, I loved when I travelled to another country because I pleased airplanes. The airplane is an engine that some years ago was something unbelievable for the society, How could the humans fly? Nowaday the airplane is a mean of transport essential for everybody. The first plane was the Wright Flyer invented by the Wright brothers in 1903 in Ohio. That plane was made by wood and paper, and the first flight took only 12 seconds. The plane was compound by two wings, an  airscrew and a rudder. It was very simple. In fact, there is a lot of types of airplanes of different sizes. The airplane is an impressive engine which I love.

AIRBUS A310

Airbus A310 is the biggest aircraft that the Spanish Air Force has on its fleet. It is used by the Spanish Royal Family and also, by the president. 

Furthermore, it is a twin-engine, long-range jet aircraft developed and manufactured by Airbus. It was the second commercial aircraft produced by the company, after the A300. 

Moreover, it is a plane that can transport around three hundred people, so its fuselage is huge enough.

In contrast, it has been flying for more than thirty years, so it has to pass revisions frequently to make sure that it is safe to be in service.

To sum up, it is a plane that has been representing Spain around the world for years.

C-130 HERCULES

C-130 Hercules is an American plane used by the Spanish Air Force. It has participated in several missions from various fields, such as humanitarian aid, peacekeeping missions, among many others.

It was first acquired in 1973, and till the day, it continues to be used in most specialty transportation missions. The aircraft is located at the Zaragoza Air Base, which is part of the “Ala 31”.

As for its most relevant technical characteristics, they are:

- It has 4 motors.

- It can fly over the Atlantic Ocean without needing to be refuelled by another plane.

- It does not have weapons, although it has a version that does carry weapons.

- It can refuel other aircraft in flight.

To date, it is the aircraft of excellence of the Spanish Air Force, however, with the arrival of the new A400-M, the C-130 Hercules, it is being withdrawn from the Air Force aircraft staff.

LOCKHEED MARTIN F-35

The F-35 is one of the most technologically advanced fighter planes that have ever existed, designed by Lockheed Martin.

Some of the characteristics of this plane are that is able to take off in short places, like helicopters do, that’s why it is used also in aircraft carriers. Also is almost invisible for enemy radars, that technology makes this plane also perfect for espionage and reconnaissance missions. 

Spain started a project to include the F-35 in the Spanish aircrafts fleet, in order to replace the current Harriers, but nowadays the project is paralysed because of the Spanish budget. The    F-35 is a very expensive plane, also, the preparation that a F-35 pilot need, is only imparted in countries like EEUU and Morocco.

Even so, is one of the aircrafts that every country would like to have, because of its versatility, and, also, the amount of new technology that it incorporates.

The Eurofighter

The Eurofighter, a really mordern fighter fabricated by Airbus, an european company that is capable to do a lot of things.
This is the reason why it is called a polyvalent aircraft. It can be used for doing many things like air-to-air combat, it can be used like a bombardier, to recognize some zone or some other aircraft…
Many countries like French, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom or Spain have this modern aircraft for the defense of their countries. The reason about that is because this countries fabricated the plane on the whole. Helped by the company Airbus, which has his campus in Sevilla, Spain.
To sum up, this really amazing plane is one of the best machine created in the history by the human. Even better tan other planes fabricated by some other comapnies like americans ones or chinese ones.

The airplane

An airplane is a machine to fly, it usually has two wings and can be powered by to methods. The first one is a method which uses a motor to rotate a propeller in the front of the airplane to propel it. The second method uses a reaction motor, this kind of motor takes air from the sky and uses it to propel the airplane, this method is better tan the first one. The wings are necessary because it is the part which keep the airplane flying.

Here, in the Academia General del Aire in Spain we have an airplane which uses the first method, and the other one which uses the second one. The first is called Pillan and the second one is callled C-101. The first airplane is slower than the second airplane, so the first one is used in the third school year and the second one is used in the fourth school year.

SR-71 Blackbird

This airplane born to be the fastest airplane in the world. His origins is in the Vietnam War. It was used for spying the enemy. it could fly about 3.529 km/h and the high was 24.000 meters. If someone sent a misile, the pilot  only had to acelerate to avoid it. 

This american airpane was develop by Lockheed Martin for the USA Army, but it had some big problems, for example, a SR-71 desintegrated in the middle of a flight and his two pilots dead. it was a big fail and the americans start to study her estructure, where they found the cause of the accident. In addition, the blackbird was an airplane too expensive to keep even for american army.

In conclusion, his last flight of the legend blackbird, was in 1999, an airplane that showed the world that we needn´t use weapons for being a legend in the history of the aviation.

I am going to describe an espectacular aircraft, I would like to speak about the T-35 “La Pillán”. It is the airplane which is used by some air forces as our own army. New pilots are teached with this plane during their first year flying in the “Academia General Aire”. Their instruments are basic, It is not to much difficult learn how to drive this vehicle.

In the outside of the plane, we can appreciate it is propelled by a turboprop engine. Moreover, we can see there are two post where the pilot and the teacher can sit there in the cockpit. There is some interesting details like the post which is behind the first one has the same instruments that has the other. This is because the instructor has to have it due to he or she should control the plane if it was necessary.

To sum up, the plane is so basic, has two simple wings with one flaps each, and three stabilizer. The landing gear has two wheels in the middle and one more at the front.

This is not too much heavier, it has three hundred horse power and it is able to reach the speed of three hundred and fifty kilometers per hour.

I have been interested in planes since I was a child. Every time I see an airplane flying I wonder how it can be possible. Aiplanes have enormous and sophisticated motors designing by the most cualified enginers. Moreover there different types of motor such us reactors. These are the ones that combat airplanes use. The commercial airplanes have a lot of space in order to carry many people. They have many sits and usually he place where you sit is narrow and uncomfortable. However, I am interested in the army airplanes. They are better than a commercial one. If I could pilot an airplane I would pilot an army airplane. In the cabina there a lot of lights, buttons, sounds… Being there must be amazing and the people who have the opportunity to pilot a plane are privileged. 

I think been there must be very stressed, but I would like to be there in a future.

F-18 is a Spanish fighter that was manufactured by Boeing in US, his attack capacity is very big and it can be embarked on an aircraft carrier that is no usual in new figthers. Spain uses a variant of this model that is 17 meter long and the distance between the end of one wing and the end of the other is of 11.4 meters.

Also, it have a very strong fuselage because it is a fighter, it have a cockpit for only one person and it is very small. Moreover is one of the fastest planes in the world because of his engine that is a propeller.

The first flight was in 1978 in the United States and here in Spain came into operation in July 1986. Only 7 countries in the world have this type of plane.

In contrast, a lot of this models are very old, so it needs a lot of revisions.

To sum up, this is one of the most modern aircraft in terms of air fighting.

I love planes since I was child. It is quite impresive see how a heavy object as it can suspend in the air and do lots of milles without refueling. Aircrafts fly because of two basic principles of Physics.

On the one hand, engines are really strong to move a huge mass. The explotion  inside of the engine Works thanks to a turbine, air, and fuel. Air is comprising with turbines which are moving because of the air flowing trough the tuve. At the same time it is mixed with fuel come to the wings. When they are an optimun mix, it is switched on a spark which creates so much press. All that press goes out of the tube and créate they speed in the plane.

On the other hand, airplanes need something that let them fly. That’s why there are wings, flpas… All these elements are aerodynamics issues to do fluids work in different ways. Wings aren’t located in the planes perpendicularly. They make an angle respect the floor in order to create less press over them. With this principle, aircrafts are elevated by because of the air.

Both principles are required to fly in planes. Moreover there are more issues for a better handle of the plane as direction, stability take-off and landing.

We must talk about the risk of this machines. Sometimes planes have failures and fall down with no chance to the crew. Moreover, combact aircrafts are quite difficult to pilot. Because of this, horrorible accidents happen. So it is very important have a great physically and mentaly health to dominate planes.

Airbus A310

The Airbus A310 is a commercial airplane, twin-engine, medium to long-range jet and wide fuselage. used by the Spanish Air Force in one of its most important operative units, the 45 Group, which mission is to carry the most important authorities in Spain such as the Royal Family or the president of the government.

The Airbus A310 was invented in the 1798, and it’s an airplane used for many purposes like refuel other airplanes during the flight or transporting large loads. It was created as an evolution of another transport plane, the Airbus A300, including many upgrades such as the ability to fly longer distances or carry heavier loads.

Moreover, there is another model of the Airbus A310, the A310 Zero G, which is adapted to be a scientific laboratory which main objective is to study the gravity.

Apart from its use in the Spanish Air Force, the Airbus A310 is used by many countries as a military transport airplane, mainly in countries like Germany, Belgium, Canada, France, etc.

F-18

The airplane I think about when I hear the word airplane is the F-18. The F/A-18 is a single and two-seat, twin engine, multi-mission fighter-attack aircraft that can operate from either aircraft carriers or land bases.

Its most known characteristic is how fast it is, it can get almost 2205 kilometer/hour. The F/A-18 has a digital control-by-wire flight control system which provides excellent handling qualities, and allows pilots to learn to fly the airplane with relative ease. At the same time, this system provides exceptional maneuverability and allows the pilot to concentrate on operating the weapons system. The only F/A-18 characteristic found to be marginally adequate by battle group commanders, outside experts, and even the men who fly the Hornet, is its range when flown on certain strike mission profiles. However, the inadequacy is managed well with organic and joint tanking assets.

These type of airplanes are in the ‘’ Ala 12’’ in Madrid , ‘’Ala 46’’ in Canarias and in “Ala 15” in Zaragoza and they are amazing, I hope I can be a pilot in the future to get in one of these incredible machines.
